ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany Police spent the night investigating a suspicious death on the south side of the city but they now say a man found dead in his apartment, died of natural causes.

Family members found 57-year-old James Brazier in a back bedroom of his Lippitt Drive apartment Friday night.

They hadn't heard from the man for a couple of days but APD says he'd been dead for some time now.

Investigators had to cover their faces to enter Brazier's apartment, his neighbor is shocked at the discovery.

"He was real neighborly when he saw you outside he would say hi give the kids a dollar or whatever but he was a very nice old man," Samantha Hall, said Neighbor.

Brazier's body was sent to the crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
