ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  An Albany motel manager is rallying other businesses to help keep Albany's homeless warm.

Jaye Lomax, manager of the Sleep Inn, is gathering blankets and pillows to donate the Hope for the Hungry and Homeless. The group is holding a sleep out at the Albany Mall Friday. Lomax says she hopes others will donate to the cause.

"So that gave me the idea to send out a message to all the hotel leaders and the hospitality businesses to see if we could do this as a business event, that we can help out, because all the hotels would have old blankets and pillows," said Jaye Lomax, Sleep Inn Manager.

Friday night's event hopes to raise enough money to buy a mobile shower. They'll also accept donations of pillows, blankets, and hygiene products.

The camp out starts Friday at 7:00 at the Albany Mall.
