VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State faces the top seed from the west Harding in the first round of the Gulf South Conference tournament Friday night on Harding's home court.
The Lady Blazers are very happy to be making their first trip to the conference tournament in three years.
It has already been a big season for the VSU volleyball team with 15 wins including their first ever victory over conference power North Alabama.
Head coach Sia Poyer says his team believes they can upset top seed Harding and possibly get another chance at West Alabama.
Sia Poyer said. "If we beat Harding, we get to face the winner of West Ala and Arkansas Tech. In a weird way, we are kind of hoping it will be West Al.
VSU's Irene Hannan and Ruthie King were named first team all conference and freshman Tania Tauilli made the second team.
