Papa Johns delivery woman attacked for pizza

By Christian Jennings - bio | email

THOMASVILLE,  GA (WALB) –A Thomasville woman was attacked and nearly robbed, over pizza. Police say Papa Johns employee 39-year-old Laura Griner was delivering pizzas to 902 South street Monday night around 11.

As she pulled up, two young men approached her while she was still in her vehicle and told her to give them the pizzas, that they didn't want the money. One even opened the back driver's side door. She didn't give in to their demands, so one of them attacked her.

She snatched the pizzas back, and they hit her in the face and she cranked her vehicle back up and she drove back to her business."

Griner suffered a broken nose but was able to make it back to the store with the food and money. Police are also looking for a man they say robbed the Pizza Hut managers at gunpoint last Thursday when they were closing up.

The man approached them in the parking lot and got away with a bag full of money. If you have any information on either crime... call crimestoppers at 227-3305.
