CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - Mitchell County's Tiona Burley fulfilled a summer commitment when she signed Wednesday to play at UNC-Charlotte.
Burley is a talented post player who averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds a game in her junior season.
But it was playing AAU ball this summer where she caught the attention of college recruiters.
North Carolina Charlotte made the NCAA women's tournament last season and is picked to win the Atlantic 10 conference title this season.
Tiona Burley said. "It is a very nice campus and I love the basketball program. The coaching staff is very good and the academics are very nice."
Mitchell County opens the season November 21st against Randolph-Clay.
