ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The Albany Rescue Mission needs your help to feed families this holiday season.

The Rescue Mission prepares 7,000 meals a month, and the demand is expected to increase over the holidays.

The Mission got a donation of personal items including shampoo and soap from a Florida hotel,  but they need food donations.

"We supply them the bags with a card on them and it says 'please help feed a family of four' and it suggests what they can buy to put in the bag," said Brother Larry Hample of the Albany Rescue Mission. "That becomes a big help because we go through so much of that preparing food bags not only for Thanksgiving but Christmas follows a month later."

Rescue Mission leaders say both their men's and women's units are at capacity.

They could likely fill another building if they had it. For information on how to help the rescue Mission, call (229)435-7615.
