ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Former Sherwood Christian football coach Rock Knapp got some great news Tuesday.
In a text message to WALB News Ten Sports, Knapp says he is complete remission from the cancer he was diagnosed with almost three years ago.
Knapp has been undergoing treatment for almost two years and managed to coach last season.
He underwent a transplant I the winter and Knapp stepped down as the Eagles head coach in the spring because he said his treatments would not allow him to handle the rigors of coaching.
Knapp is now an assistant at Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus.
Reginald Mitchell is now head coach at Sherwood Christian Academy.
The Eagles won their region and host Edmund Burke in the second round of the GISA state playoffs Friday.
