ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Testimony got underway Tuesday in the theft trial of an Albany man charged with swindling Alltel out of a half million dollars.

Christopher Weaver is charged with 40-counts of theft by taking and conspiracy.

Prosecutors say through his business Weaver filled out fraudulent work orders and received money from Alltel .

Former Alltel Vice President Jimbo Adams pleaded guilty to charges against him last week and is expected to testify against Weaver.
