ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A pair of would be burglars put a lot of work into an overnight break-in only to end up empty handed.

Surveillance cameras inside the Stop-N-Shop Foodmart on Clark Avenue were rolling around 3 o'clock Tuesday morning when two men hammered out a hole in the store wall and climbed through it.

Video shows the suspects, one of them wearing a ski mask, making the tight squeeze into the store's back office. The duo didn't get far and climbed back out when they couldn't get through a locked door.

Police received a call about a burglary in progress but when they arrived the suspects had already taken off.

This is the second time in two months Stop-N-Shop has been damaged by crooks. In September surveillance video captured a man driving a car through the front door. He got away with several packs of cigarettes.

If have any information about this latest break in, you’re asked to call crime stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
