Teen dies in I-75 wreck

A head-on collision on 1-75 ends with a teenager dead and three others injured.

The accident happened five miles south of Sycamore around 8:00 Saturday night.

Norman Barney of Ashburn lost control of his car, crossed the median into the northbound lane and hit an on-coming car. Seventeen-year-old Darby Pilkington, of Sycamore was killed.

Barney is in critical condition at Tift Regional Hospital. Two people in the another car received minor injuries.

The GSP is investigating what caused Barney to lose control, and charges are pending.

    Here's a prime example of why police tell you never to leave your keys in a running car. Dougherty County Police said a man told officers someone stole his car, while it was left running in a convenience store parking lot.
