ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The Albany State Rams are preparing for Saturday's home playoff game against West Alabama.

Albany State running back Demetrice Johnson is one of 24 players in the running for the Harlon Hill Trophy.

The award is presented to the top division two player in the nation on the night before the Division II playoff game.

Johnson led the SIAC in scoring this year with 19 touchdowns.

The list of finalists will be trimmed to eight later this month.

Coach Mike White says Johnson will be ready to go for Saturday's playoff game after he was sidelined with an injury against Fort Valley State.

Mike White said. "It really hurt. It really cost us because the other team got to key on other guys. They didn't have him to key on. It is a huge thing when he is not there to have the quarterback with an outlet to him."

Game time is 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Rams Den for the DII playoff game between Albany State and West Alabama.
