ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Despite an ugly loss to Fort Valley State the Albany State Golden Rams will be home in the first round of the playoffs.

The Golden Rams lost 35-13 to Fort Valley State over the weekend but remain 3rd in the super regional poll earning Albany State a 3 seed in the playoffs and a home playoff game in the first round. Albany State will host 6th seeded West Alabama out of the Gulf South Conference on Saturday. Albany State head coach Mike White is thrilled that the Golden Rams will be at home in the first round and he is hoping his team will be inspired to play better football after a lopsided loss.

"The guys are feeling pretty low right now so I think the biggest thing right now is just to face the facts that we are in the playoffs. We have no losses and now wins just like any other team and we have to go in there with that type of attitude" said White.

Albany State will look tp play in the dominating fashion it played with early in the season.

"We have to go back and play like we did early in the season. We have to take care of the football and we have to be able to move the chain and we have to stop teams from having big plays" said White.

Albany State and West Alabama kick off at 1:00 on Saturday at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
