
COLUMBUS, GA (WALB) - Albany State turned the ball over five times and Fort Valley State beat the Golden Rams for the first time in seven years in a 35-13 decision.
A fumble by Albany State was returned 20 yards by Trent Newton for a touchdown to give the Wildcats a 28-10 lead.
In the 4th quarter Fort Valley State's Dajua Williams returned an AJ McKenna interception 41 yards for a touchdown to put the icing on the cake.
McKenna finished 20-50 passing with 231 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions.
The loss drops the Golden Rams to 8-2 on the season. Albany State will have to wait until Sunday to learn its' playoff destiny.
