Tifton, GA -  Dr. Harry Kroto, a winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, spoke to almost 100 college educators at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center on Friday afternoon on "Teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to Students in the 21st Century."

The first ever Southern Georgia Regional STEM Institute continues through noon on Saturday. 

The event is hosted by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Albany State University, Bainbridge College, Darton College, Georgia Southwestern State University, South Georgia College, Valdosta State University, and Waycross College.

The conference is sponsored by The Partnership for Reform in Science and Mathematics (PRISM) and funded by the Georgia State PRISM Grant.
