Normally the Blazers will be preparing for the division two playoffs.
Saturday's game with NAIA Edward Waters will be the final game as the Blazers miss the postseason for just the second time in the last ten seasons.
Head coach David Dean wants his seniors to be a winner in their final game and he also believes a big win will send the number of young players into the offseason with the confidence to turn things around next year.
David Dean said. "If those guys can go out and play well. Make the plays they are supposed to make. Tackle well. Break on the ball. See things. Read things. Make their blocks and all that. I think it is going to help us carry some momentum to the offseason where they know they have got a little bit of something they can work for."
Valdosta State hosts Edward Waters at 2:00 p.m. at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium on Saturday.
