Albany- About 50 kids from Albany World Vision began a 30 hour fast at five o'clock Friday evening.

The organization began in 1950 and has chapters in more than 100 countries. Organizers say they're fighting to save more than 29,000 children across the world who die from hunger each day.

"The young people are getting not only a physical taste of hunger, they're also getting a visual taste through watching videos and a verbal taste through the listening of speakers and persons who've actually experienced hunger before," says Executive Director, Margaret Taylor.

The young people will stay at Friendship Baptist Church fasting until 11 o'clock Saturday night.
