Albany- Dr. Felicia Jefferson-Wilson has been a mental health counselor for more than twenty years. She says suicide among adolescents is on the rise because many of them do not know how to cope with troubling situations in the world around them.

Dr. Jefferson-Wilson adds, "It's tough for kids. They need support and sometimes, counselors are there only hope."

Dr. Jefferson-Wilson says school counselors are going to have to make sure students feel safe and are comfortable talking about their problems.
