Salvation Army needs help setting Thanksgiving table

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Salvation Army's Thanksgiving meal is three weeks away, and they're asking for your help to make sure their table has all the fixings.

As the economy continues to falter and unemployment reaches record heights, the Salvation Army is expecting more people for their Thanksgiving meal. They're asking the community for donations from turkeys to canned goods to make sure no one goes hungry this holiday.

"If you have donations of food, if you have donations of desserts or something like that and you want to bring it on by here we really could use your assistance and we're also going to be replicating the meal the Wednesday before Christmas as well," said Captain Douglas McClure, The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army says the community's needs are escalating, but the amount of public support is just not keeping up. Those willing to make monetary or food donations can contact the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army's Thanksgiving meal will be held at 6:00 PM November 25th at their office on Second Avenue.
