ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Time is running out to sign up to receive toys from The Salvation Army this Christmas.  The deadline is Friday at 1:00 PM.

In the last two weeks, hundreds have filled out the paperwork for the program, but there hasn't been as much demand for assistance as organizers expected. Signing up is easy, if you bring the right documentation.

"Basically you need all your income and outgoing from your house your expenses for your household as well as social security cards, birth certificates if you've got a food stamp summary," Captain Doug McClure said. "Those can really be helpful and of course a picture ID so we know you are who you say you are."

You can sign up at The Salvation Army on West Second Avenue between the nine and one. Last year, the Toys for Tots program through the Salvation Army and the Marines helped seven thousand children.
