ALBANY, GA (WALB) - In the weeks and months that followed the shooting death of 25-year-old Ricardo McPherson the investigation into his murder grew cold. The former Albany State University basketball player was discovered inside his Gillionville Road duplex the night of September 15th dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators said McPherson was on the phone with someone when he was gunned down. Few clues surfaced in the case until last week when police received a tip 13 months after McPherson was murdered.

That tip lead to the arrest of 28-year-old Chyquandria Williams and 32-year-old Theojuana McCullar.  Police arrested the two Dawson women Thursday night. Williams was charged with murder and McCullar with being a party to a crime.

A third suspect, Willie Caldwell of Dawson, also from Terrell County surrendered to police Saturday afternoon. Police have charged Caldwell with murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and burglary.

While police made a major break in this case, a fourth suspect remains at large. At a Friday press conference APD detectives announced they are looking for 26-year-old Jatarious Bronner. A native of Bronwood, Bronner is wanted on murder charges. And like the trio already jailed for the crime, he too has ties to the Terrell County area.

Investigators would not say how the four suspects were connected to McPherson but said they believe the motive robbery.

McPherson graduated from ASU in 2006 with a degree in computer science. He had been working at a call center in Albany prior to his death.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jatarious Bronner should call the Albany Police Department of CrimeStoppers at 436-TIPS.
