ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The 2009 soccer season ended sooner than Darton was hoping it would. On Saturday the Darton women lost in the region championship game 1-0 to Middle Georgia. The Cavaliers were the two time defending region champs but instead of a trip to districts this year the Cavaliers find themselves in the off season earlier than usual.
The Darton Men were looking to claim a region championship for the first time since 2002 but lost in the semifinals Saturday to Georgia Perimeter 2-1 in overtime. Darton had beaten then top ranked Georgia Perimeter 4-2 a couple weeks ago but came up short Saturday after having a 1-0 lead.
