BEN HILL COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A two year old Ben Hill County boy was brutally beaten Friday afternoon and is in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital.

His mother's boyfriend is labeled a suspect in the attack.

The little boy was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home on Lilac Road just after 1:30 Friday afternoon.

Ben Hill County Sheriff Bobby McLemore says the child had serious head injuries and a partially collapsed lung.

Doctors put him on a ventilator until he was airlifted to Eggleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.

His mother's boyfriend is being questioned at the Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office.
