ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two Albany college students are charged with selling marijuana, one of the men arrested is a criminal justice major at Albany State.
The Albany-Dougherty Drug staked out 22-year-old Anthony Parker, Jr.'s apartment on West Broad. Agents say he received a package of marijuana through the mail. When he put it in his car and drove off, they pulled him over.
While agents were searching Parker's apartment, they say 24-year-old Riccardo Holton showed up with a gun. Holton is a loss prevention officer at a store in the Albany Mall.
"They're mid-level dealers," Capt. Andy Exum of the Albany/Dougherty Drug Unit. "They're not necessarily the ones standing on the corner dealing. They're getting it from a supplier in Texas. They were getting several pounds a weekend. The investigation is still on-going on that end. The names weren't real."
The package was addressed to Mr. Smith from Mrs. Smith. Police charged both Parker and Holton with possession of Marijuana.
Holton was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a pistol with out a license, and possesion of stolen property.
