
News release from the Lowndes Co. sheriff's Office
On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 a Madison Highway resident noticed three black males, who were unknown to her, at her residence knocking on the door.
The victim, a Hispanic female, approached the males and asked to help them. The males accosted the female and forced her into the residence where she was restrained.
The males collected items from inside the residence which they loaded into their awaiting vehicle along with the female victim. The female was driven away from her residence and released a short time later in south Lowndes County.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office was notified and began an investigation. The Valdosta Police Department was later called to the New Valdosta Inn in regards to an armed robbery.
Investigative efforts have led to the identification of several persons who are currently being questioned along with the Valdosta Police Department for these incidents.
At this time the names and photographs of these persons are not being released due to the ongoing investigation.
