Yellow Jackets hosting rematch with Westside

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets are 7-1 but cannot understand why they are not ranked in some state high school football polls.

The Jackets will catch the attention of all polls if they beat second ranked Westside-Macon Friday night.

For the second straight year, this game will decide the Region 1-AAAA title.

The unbeaten Seminoles won last year's game in Macon 51-0.

Thomas County Central head coach Bill Shaver says Yellow Jackets mistakes had a big part in that lopsided score.

The coach believes his team will play much better on their home field this year.

Bill Shaver said. "It definitely wasn't, it definitely wasn't the Yellow Jackets night. Of course when you play like that against a really good team, then it is going to be pretty bad. We are looking for a little better performance and the good thing is they have to come down here to the Jackets Nest."

Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Jackets Nest in Thomasville.

WALB will have highlights on the Locker Room Report at 11:00 p.m. Friday night.
