ALBANY - Students across the state learned what to do in case of a tornado Wednesday.
"This is a drill, you should proceed to safe areas and assume the position," Principal Youngblood said.
Students at Lake Park Elementary evacuated their classrooms and crouched in the hallways. They are instructed to cover their heads with a book or their hands and stay calm and quiet.
Rachel Lane, a fifth grader said, "If a tornado really was to come you would know you are safe."
The drill was part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. It gives principals a chance to review their safety plans and make sure they work in case of an actual emergency.
