ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The Darton women's soccer team looks to capture a 4th region title in 5 years this weekend.
The Cavaliers enter the tournament as the top seed and will host Georgia Perimeter on Friday.
The Cavaliers have only lost once this season back in early September to Tyler.
Darton head coach Ken Veilands said his team is playing it's best soccer of the season and that they are prepared for tournament play.
"I think we're focused and they've convinced me that this is important to them. They want to win, they've learned how to come from behind and win, they've learned how to win in overtime. They've had just about every scenario and they've bounced back and found a way to win" said Veilands.
Georgia Perimeter beat ABAC on Tuesday in the play in game and Veilands says having a top seed and extra time to prepare has been a key to success for his team in recent years.
"It is good, we've been up top for the South ever since they split the region we've always been there traditionally so it's a good feeling to have the week to prepare and not have to prepare for a play in game" said Veilands.
Darton and Georgia Perimeter play on Friday at 6:00.Feedback
