ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The investigation into ADICA Board Member Lajuana Woods continues and could take longer as the District Attorney's office waits for critical financial documents.

The D. A.'s office won't present anything pertaining to Woods to a grand jury until late November because they are waiting on financial documents.

Woods is under investigation after receiving a $50,000 façade grant from Downtown Manager Don Buie.

Chief District Attorney Chris Cohilas said they want to make sure they have all the information for their case before presenting it.

"We have served a subpoena for certain financial records," said Cohilas. "It is information we deem necessary to analyze for this particular case and so we can actually present to the grand jury all of the facts that need to be analyzed."

The District Attorney's office is also working with 33-year-old Shanon Buie to turn herself in here in Georgia.

She surrendered in North Carolina last week and is now said to be cooperating.

She's charged with theft by taking, theft by receiving, and conspiracy to defraud, for cashing at least five ADICA checks written by her husband Don Buie, worth at least two thousand dollars.
