ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Even though supply is up and demand is down, gas prices are increasing. The price of oil is going up which is leading to higher gas prices. Experts say that's because a weak U.S. dollar is drawing many investors to crude oil, driving up the price.

Whatever the reason, drivers don't like it, and many are cutting back on driving. At an Albany gas station Monday, Eric Etheridge said, "I'm more just driving back and forth to work these days. I'm not doing a whole lot of driving out of town, things like that, keeping it very necessary. Just to the necessities."

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Georgia was $2.56 Monday. That's up $.17 in one week.
