ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A mistake made by a prison transport officer could have led to the escape of a Coffee County Inmate.  

Authorities say Tina Davis is still on the loose after escaping from a prison transport officers custody on October 16th.

Coffee County authorities say Tina Davis was taken to the bank by a Prison Transport officer to so she could sign some important paperwork. But the transport officer took off her shackles, which is against the rules, and she managed to get away.

The prison transport officer resigned shortly after the incident.

 Tina Davis was being held at the Coffee County jail temporarily for violating drug court rules.
