ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A judge just denied bond for Don Buie, saying he's a flight risk.
The former ADICA Manager will remain in the Dougherty County jail as the investigation into the handling of public money continues.
Buie's been in the Dougherty County jail since early last Monday.
At a bond hearing this morning, Buie's' lawyer Johnnie Graham, argued that Buie is not a flight risk and poses no threat to the community.
His mother, Linda Buie of Baltimore vouched for her son, as did his girlfriend, Leah Culbreth of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Nicole Brown, who received checks from Buie earlier this year, told the judge in her court appearance that she was fearful of Buie, and asked the court for protection from him.
