TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Tifton police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store early Thursday morning.
Two men walked in the store, acted like they wanted to make a purchase, then jumped the counter and threatened the clerk's life. It's all caught on tape.
In the video it's hard to tell if one of the robbers did indeed have a knife in his hand behind his back. But the threats he made, were real. Enough to scare the clerk, and get away with a handful of cash.
"Give me everything, open the register right now," shouted the robbers in the video.
Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, two men showed up at the Flash Foods on the corner of 7th and Magnolia.
They posed as customers, then suddenly one of them jumped over the register and demanded money.
"Get the (****) down, Open it up or I'll stab your (***) in the chest," they yelled.
The men were threatening store clerk Paul Turley. He works the night shift, so we caught him at home this afternoon.
"I didn't know what he had in his hand so I wasn't going to take any chances.
"I was too scared," said Turley. Turley listened, opened the register and let the thieves take the money. That's when the robbers left.
"Use the phone and I'll kill you dead," they said.
And Turley called police.
"I've just been robbed," said Turley in the video.
Police say it was a smart move.
"The clerk did exactly what he should have done he cooperated and didn't put up a struggle," said Lee Dunston, Investigator with the Tifton Police Department.
The men took off down the the street. Within minutes, Charlie Caldwell was arrested.
"One of the patrol officers saw one of them taking off the shirt he was wearing, arrested him," said Dunston.
Police believe the man who jumped over the counter is 31-year-old Octavious Partlow who managed to get away. If you know where he is, call Tifton Police.
Octavious Partlow is 5'10, 160 pounds. Police say they believe he's still in the Tifton area, but they aren't ruling out the possibility he's left town.
The men face armed robbery charges. The Tifton police department is offering a reward for anyone who can give information leading to the arrest of Partlow.
