Lady Trojans fall in first round of GHSA softball finals

COLUMBUS, GA (WALB) -  The Lee County Trojans are off to another tough start in the GHSA AAAA softball finals.

Northwest Whitfield scores five times in the seventh to beat the Lady Trojans 6-0.

Karlie Henson hit a solo homerun for the Bruins in the first.

The Lady Trojans had no luck against Northwest Whitfield freshman pitcher Emily Boyd.

Lee County plays Sequoyah High at 11:00 a.m. Friday in an elimination game.

In AA, Cook High sophomore Haley Rentz throws a perfect game in the Lady Hornets 2-0 win over Dade County.

Berrien High fell to Rockmart 2-0.  Berrien plays Dade County Friday at 9:00 a.m.

Cook then beat Rockmart 2-1.

Lady Hornets play Buford in the AA semifinals Friday at 5:00 p.m..

In Class A,  Bacon County beats Excel Christian 2-1.

Schley County falls to Eagles Landing Christian 9-1.

Eagles Landing Christian beat Bacon County 4-1.

Bacon County plays the winner of Providence Christian-Bryan County at 1:00 p.m. Friday in an elimination bracket game.

Schley County will play Excel at 9:00 a.m. on Friday in an elimination game.
