ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Sad news on the little swan who was rescued from a sludge filled pond in Northwest Albany.

Leo died overnight.

His owner, Joe Carter, found Leo floating in the pond near his home on Hummingbird Drive Thursday morning.

Leo had just been returned after spending several days at the Flint Riverquarium.

They took him in and cleaned off tar and oil that had gotten on him from a construction site near the Lake Park subdivision.

It was obvious Leo didn't feel well when we took pictures of him Wednesday.

He died a few hours after the video was shot.
