ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Former Albany downtown manager Don Buie will ask a judge next week for bond.  Buie remains in the Dougherty County jail after surrendering on charges of theft and conspiracy to defraud city tax money.

Johnnie Graham officially filed notice she will serve as Buie's attorney, and scheduled a bond hearing Monday at 10:30 at the jail before Judge Denise Marshall.

Graham said in her motion for bond that Buie is not a flight risk and that he returned from out of state to surrender.

Buie's wife Shanon remains a fugitive. GBI Agents say she is in North Carolina, and they are taking steps to have her arrested and brought back to Albany.

"It's going to be put into the system of law enforcement. Will be deciminated among all the law enforcement agencies, and the effort will be made to bring her into custody," said Dougherty D.A. Greg Edwards.

Prosecutors want Buie held without bond, because he has a prior felony conviction.
