ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The city is moving forward with demolition of a long-standing eyesore.

The old apartment complex at Odom Avenue and South Jefferson Street is being knocked down by city crews and excavators.

The building has been vacate for some time, and partially burned. Area residents have long  wanted the city to take action on the property which was seen as a hazard and a haven for drug-user and squatters.
