ALBANY,  GA (WALB) - Five Metal Bands Battled it out Saturday night all for a good cause.

Battle of the Bands was held at the State Theatre downtown. Tickets were $10 and all the money raised will be given to the Lily Pad, a non-profit that helps victims of abuse.

18-year-old Charity Brock organized the event. She says the Lily Pad touches so many lives and she wanted to be a part of that.

"Those that are affected by sexual abuse and assault, those are my people, those are my peers. So I like that the organization is surrounded by those people and help those people," said Brock.

$1,000 was raised for the Lily Pad. Charity hopes to make it an annual fundraising event.
