Newton, GA -  The former East Baker Elementary School on Roosevelt Avenue in Newton, is now the headqurters of a community service organization called the East Baker Historical Society and 21st Century Community Corporation, Inc. 

Thursday afternoon and Friday of this week, were fantastic days for the organization.

The Farmers Legal Aid Group, attorneys from across the country, visited the center and toured the facility while witnessing several presentations connected with the commercial kitchen. 

The organization also held its museum Open House while simultaneously hosting sewing companies from southwest Georgia and all over Alabama.  Safe food handling classes were taking place as well. 

The East Baker Historical Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide services, opportunities, resources and facilities to low income residents of Baker and surrounding counties that will result in an improved quality of life.
