ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The world's leading doctor in incision-less surgery and Palmyra hospital are helping train international doctors in a new procedure.
Doctor John Bagnato was working with two doctors from Italy how to perform incision-less surgery.
They go through the patient's mouth with a camera to treat problems like acid reflux disease.
This is the first time international surgeons have come to the United States for hospital-based training for the non-invasive surgery.
Palmyra hospital was designated as a national training center this summer.
Seven doctors from Brazil will be in Albany to train on the new procedure next month.
