Grand Jury indicts Buie

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Dougherty County Grand Jury indicts Don Buie on 17 crimes.

The Grand Jury also returned indictments against, Nicole Brown, Tim Washington, owner of the Dollar Square, and Don Buie's wife, Shanon Buie.

They were indicted on 17 counts. All of them are felonies, except for two counts against Shanon Buie.

Eleven of the 17 counts are theft.

Because he's a government official Don Buie could face enhanced sentencing.

The state is asking the public for help finding Buie, who is thought to be out of state.

The charges include:

  • Making false statements (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy to defraud a political subdivision (3 counts)
  • Theft of services (2 counts)
  • Theft by taking (7 counts)
  • Theft by recevieing stolen property (3 counts)

ADICA Board Member LaJuana Woods, who was given a $50,000 façade grant from Buie, is now the target of an investigation as well.
