ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Deerfield-Windsor begins defense to their region title on Friday night.
The Knights will open region play at home against rival Southland.
Deerfield-Winsdor has been on a roll with five straight wins after dropping two of their first three games.
The visiting Raiders under first year coach Tim Goodin are coming off a bye week at 3-3.
Knights head coach Allen Lowe wants to win the region title but he also believes the schedule will get his state champion team ready for the playoffs especially against a tough Southland defense.
Allen Lowe said. "We know that defensively they have done a great job against the run. We have just got to have a good balance. For us to be able to play as well as the playoffs, we are going to have to do a lot of things well. We have got to run the ball and we have to throw it a bit too."
Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Webb Memorial Stadium.
