COOK COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A Miami man is arrested on I-75 in Cook County for traveling with thousands of ecstasy pills and a handgun in the trunk of a rental car.

21-year old Craig Shorter is in the Cook County Jail.  He's charged with trafficking ecstasy and possession of a firearm.

The South Georgia Drug Task Force said he was driving from from Atlanta to Miami. The street value of the drugs is more than $82,000.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office stopped Shorter for speeding at mile marker 38 on Monday. They called for assistance from the South Georgia Drug Task Force. Adel Police also assisted in the search.
