By Jim Wallace - bio | email ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Graphic details of a gang initiating beating death emerged from a committal hearing for two of the accused beaters.
Orlando Charlot, Jr. and Yaaeil Shelton are two of the seven men charged with beating Reginald Richardson to death in June.
Prosecutors say all seven are members of the Black Gangsta Disciples and that Richardson died after being "beaten in" to the gang.
WALB News 10 had the only cameras in the courtroom this morning when police testified that Richardson was beaten by up to 12 gang members at the Sand Dunes.
He was later taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The committal hearing was continued because Albany Police were not prepared to proceed.
One of the investigators did not respond to a subpoena and did not show up for court.
