BAINBRIDGE,  GA (WALB) - Two Bainbridge city employees helped catch two suspected robbers Friday night.

City utility workers Hubert Campbell and Marty Cawvey were working near the Quick Buys store Friday night when they witnessed what they thought was a drug deal.

They saw four men sitting in a car in the parking lot. Police say the men were supposed to be meeting for a drug exchange, but 21-year-old Donnie Williams and 25-year-old Tocarra Herring brought 10 pounds of grass with them, instead of marijuana.

Police say Williams and Herring then fired a bullet between the two front seats demanding money.

The men up front were able to get out of the car and grab the attention of clerks inside. One of them even punched a hole through the glass window.

That's when Williams and Herring took off in their vehicle, but two city utility workers took off after them and stayed on the phone with police. Williams was arrested down the road shortly after and found two stolen guns inside the car.

Herring got away.
