ALBANY,  GA (WALB) - Looks like the South Georgia ATM thieves may be headed south for the winter.

They struck again, this time in Wakulla County, Florida. This time, a deputy actually saw them and fired shots at them.

They took off without the ATM at the Stop and Save store in Crawfordville, Florida. And tried to run over the deputy when the left.

They were chased into neighboring Leon County where a full scale manhunt was launched.

A nearby school was even locked down for a while.

This is the latest of a string of crimes where thieves stole entire ATMs from stores in Thomas, Grady and Mitchell Counties.
