ECHOLS COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A former Echols County Sheriff's Investigator is charged with evidence tampering.

25-year-old Shannon Wilson was booked at the Lowndes County jail Wednesday afternoon.

She's charged with one count of interfering with government property, one count of providing false statements and one count of tampering with evidence.

The charges came after a GBI investigation into a missing case file at the Echols Sheriff's office.

Wilson, who worked for the Sheriff's office for about a year and a half, resigned a month ago.

She's out of jail on bond.
