Valdosta - Medical personnel from all over the state gathered in South Georgia Wednesday to help improve cancer care.
The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition met at South Georgia Medical Center to discuss ways to enhance early detection and improve cancer treatment. They presented their ideas to representatives from Georgia's Cancer Coalition, who seemed very impressed with the region's cancer care.
"The leaders in this region have set standards for the rest of the state to follow and are doing a superb job in improving cancer care," said Nancy Paris, Georgia's Cancer Coalition.
The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition is composed of 32 members and serves 38 counties.
