VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Northside Warner Robins beat Lowndes last week and Colquitt County won at Valdosta. Friday night Valdosta visits Lowndes for another installment of the winnersville classic and with both teams eager to get back in the win column this year's game will be even more intense.
"We've definitely got to improve we got knocked off the ball early in the game. We didn't mantain our blocks very well on offense. We've just got to improve, we've got to get better" said Lowndes head coach Randy McPherson.
"It's tough to swallow I mean I want to congratulate the Colquitt County Packers they played a great game, it was a hard fought game a close game and they made it happen in the end but it sure is painful" said Valdosta head coach Rick Tomberlin.
Not that they need it but both teams suddenly have even more motivation heading into Friday night's game.
"They're winners I mean they work hard and I've said it for the last several years it's real hard for any one team to run the table in this region" said McPherson.
"We're going to have to play lights out we're going to have to play absolutely lights out and we're going to have to really keep our mistakes to a minimum and go over there and hopefully play great defense and score some points and excell in the kicking game but we're gonna have to play our very best to have a chance" said Tomberlin.
If Friday's game gives the winner bragging rights for 365 days a year then the Vikings have been bragging since 2003. They've won five straight over Valdosta.Feedback
