ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State finds themselves ranked near the top of the first NCAA Division II Super Regional poll this week.

Albany State at 5-0 is ranked number two in the first super regional poll.

Six teams from each of the four DII Super Regionals will qualify for the division two playoffs.

North Alabama is ranked number one and Albany State is ranked number two.

It is only the halfway point of the football season, but if Albany State can finish either first or second, the Golden Rams would get a first round bye and play the second round at home.

Head coach Mike White could care less about the good news on the regional rankings.

He is more concerned about Saturday"s game at Miles College.

Mike White said "We are really, really just trying to get better. We have got some players that are playing well. We are just trying to concentrate on the things we can take care of. The other things no."

Albany State plays at Miles College Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in Fairfield, Alabama.
