LAKE PARK, GA (WALB) - Lowndes County Sheriff's Investigators arrested a Lake Park man Tuesday for the murder of his girlfriend's 2-year-old little girl.

29-year-old Brandon Lee Thompson turned himself in at the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office a little after 5 o'clock Tuesday.  He's charged with murder and felony cruelty to a child.

Sheriff Chris Prine told us Thompson called 911 last Tuesday when 2-year-old Abriana Thomas wouldn't respond.  She was taken to a Gainesville hospital where she died a day later.

The GBI crime lab determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Thompson is being held at the Lowndes County Jail.
